It is one of Hanoch Levin’s most brilliant and pungent family comedies.

Lachek’s old mother died and he is on his way to inform the family about the time of the funeral, but he arrives in bad timing: his aunt Shratsia and uncle Rashes are busy with the final preparations for the wedding of their daughter Velvetsia – due for tomorrow. They are determined to avoid -in any possible way – receiving the dismal news which would ruin their plans. After all, “you don’t just throw away four hundred guests and eight hundred chickens to the trash and cancel a hot wedding with meat and Cognac, for a rainy funeral of a little old woman.”

But the problem becomes even harder as Lachek attempts to save his mother from a second death – forgetfulness – and chases the family to the end of the world in order to tell them of his mother’s death and invite them to the funeral.

It is one of Hanoch Levin’s most brilliant and pungent family comedies.
