Two new books of plays by Hanoch Levin have been published in Poland lately.

“The Great Whore of Babylon”, featuring seven “mythical” plays – The Weepers, The Janitors, The Emperor Gok, The Great Whore of Babylon, The Lost Women of Troy, Everyone Wants To Live and The Skinny Soldier.

And “The Labor of Life,” which includes 10 “family” plays – The Labor of Life, Popper, Morris Shimel, Ikhsh Fisher, Romantics, Solomon Grip, Hefetz, the Hesitator and Yakish and Poupche.

In both parts of the anthology, come together all the translators who have been translating the plays into Polish over the years: Agnieszka Olek Agnies, Michał Sobelman, Ela Sidi, Włodzimierz Leder and Michał Handelzalts

The books were published by the two Polish publishing houses AUSTERIA and ADIT, which previously had published two translated anthologies (“You And Me And The Next War”, containing 11 plays and “Queen of the Bathtub” containing Cabaret texts and poetry).
